Goal Setting and Motivation

This book I would usually use at the end of the year when my Yr 6's as they are leaving primary school and looking forward to embarking on their journey at high school in the following year.

Room 5 are ready for this book and its messages now.  What I like the most about this book it has so many key messages for children and adults who are embarking on change.  Dr. Seuss warns us of some perils we can come up against in life.

Dr. Seuss says go for it all, but know that you will encounter adversity; you will fall into slumps (he uses that word specifically); and worst of all, you will meet people who are content with just letting life pass them by.

Looking at the combined message of all of these is emphasised by saying...

Being a champion is a choice! It’s a decision!

But know that tough times will come. Know that personal and professional slumps will come. Know that not everyone is as passionate about life as you are.

Don’t let any of that stop you! Set out to succeed – yes, even starting today!

It’s not about the WHERE you are in life, it’s about the WHO – the relationships and experiences along the way. And it’s about WHO you become.

Envision the life you want. Accept the adversity but don’t let it stop you. Live the greatness you are destined for!

Behaviour Management System for Room 5

This term we will be introducing our new Behaviour Management System using Awesome Attitude Awards and Class Dojo.

It's really simple as we strive to work at and achieve using the 3 Key Values of...

Mrs Rolton will handout Awesome Attitude Awards when she sees anyone in the class displaying the value of...
Respect 
                              Responsibility and 
                                            Honesty.

These are placed in our Caught Being Good tin and everyone's Awesome Attitude Awards are uploaded at the end of the week onto Class Dojo for us to see the points earned.  

1 Awesome Attitude Award = 1 Point to spend

Collating our Awesome Attitude Awards onto Class Dojo will help us set personal goals and strive to reach those goals.

As a class we will co-construct a menu, this menu will have rewards that we can earn by receiving and spending the corresponding points to the award on the menu.
