SWimming Carnival 2018 100 words

It was it the event we have been practicing for, The Swimming Carnival! Coppin, Miaree and Kyalina went head to head against each other for the Shield Of Victory we went head to head in timed races and get the best time possible. We did strokes freestyle, breast stroke, butterfly, novelties and fun games. People were cheering their faction on giving their team confidence to speed up and tap that wall first, Gaven telling jokes to hype the people who are next for the race. The parents were there also cheering their kids and faction on, at the end kids raced each others faction and Kyalina Won. We won the shield!

100 Hundred Word Challenge

On our swimming carnival we had to go in our coloured bay with our school bags and lunch and sunscreen and that in it.
every one was cheering songs to there factions .
I got so hot I had to put on a lot of sunscreen. I ate all of my lunch and it was amazing . I came last in freestyle and last in relays . But I was happy I did a good job.
My parents didn't because they  had to go to work and I was so upset and angry. Every body was cheering so loudly my ears were bursting.

100 words- swimming carnival

I stepped up to the diving block, my heart right out of my chest. My head turns to look at my competitors, and they looked as terrified as  I did.  We waited on those blocks for what seemed like hours. Until we dived into the freezing water and the race was on. I felt less scared and my heartbeat slowed right down as I swam further and further.

I was the first girl to touch the wall in my heat. Although I came 3rd in my actual race against the year 6 girls.
I was so proud.

The Life Changing Experience

We all ran out the pool screaming for dear life, my friends and I were so confused why everyone was screaming and running. It's like a tornado is about to happen, I hear the beeping from the Storm Detector warning everyone.

We all ran to get changed, I heard people scream when the thunders 'BANG' reached our ears, I came outside to see people lined up all of a sudden we got told to come undercover, the storm went on, water ran on the ground reaching where we were sitting ' I WANT TO GO HOME' someone yells, kids crying scared of what's going to happen.

We go into the office where its safe, I look around and see a picture it says 'from the pool orphans' the picture calms me down. Minutes passed and I'm one of the last 4 to get into a car and go home!

Remembrance Day Services

 Remembrance Day

On the 11th of November 2015, it was the 97th anniversary since the end of WW1. An Armistice/Peace Treaty was signed on this day 97 years ago, it is now called Remembrance Day or Armistice Day and celebrated around the world.

To celebrate the anniversary, we had some services across the town and we all stood in silence for one minute at 11am, the rest of the country took this time to remember fallen soldiers and those who have served.

The main two services were at Tom Price Senior High School and another service at Tom Price Primary School. Here at Tom Price Primary School, our very own Room 5 Hero HQ students ran the service by themselves. At the end of the service, they got a photo taken with Jerry, our class mascot with all the poppies and wreaths in front of us.

We had some music that was played by a Didgeridoo, The Australian National Anthem, and The Last Post.  In Flanders Fields was read along with the Ode. Everyone had a part to play in the service, including the audience. Without them, it would have only been Room 5 attending the service.

Thank you to Mrs Rolton and everyone who helped make this auspicious ceremony possible, we would not have achieved a memorable service without you!
